Top 7 favorite unique tiles for bathrooms

I have always been a fan of unconventional tiles. Tiles are a great way of adding color and texture to a space. I specifically enjoy adding tiles in bathrooms, staircases, and kitchens as tile is quite water resistant and durable, especially ceramic and porcelain tile. Most tiles are also low maintenance which is always a plus, but apart from the numerous reasons on why tile is such a great investment, they're also so fun and versatile.
Below are 7 of my favorite unconventional (or at least not entirely off-white) tiles:
1.The Aura Green Tile from Artistic Tile
The Aura Green Tile is an elegant natural surface that has a layer of green, a mustard-like yellow and beiges on top. It has almost a water color effect. It is quite soothing, luxurious and can definitely be a statement piece. This tile can be applied on any or all walls of a shower or as the flooring. I believe that this tile would look breathtaking next to some lighter beiges so it can stand out. For a moodier feel, I trust that in well lit bathroom, it would look lovely against some warmer charcoal tones.

2. The Lilac Dark Marble Tile by Artistic Tile
The Lilac Dark Marble Tile is an absolute masterpiece. It is dark and dramatic but also feminine and almost delicate. It has these wonderful vertical streaks that can make a room look taller than it actually is. This breathtaking tile was made to be a focal point, so having it be on all the walls in a bathroom or as flooring would do enough justice. Pairing it with black or cool toned, dark metals and cool white accents is how I imagine this tile would thrive the most.

3. The Racing Green 2x6 tile from Zia Tile
This dark green tile is moody and dark while also adding a wonderful glossy texture to any space. It has pops of a green with yellow undertones but may vary on tile, considering that each tile is handcrafted. This specific tile is perfect for those looking for tile that provides a "perfectly imperfect" feel.
While this tile would look great as flooring, its shape and glossiness is perfect for a shower or as backsplash. Pairing it with lighter greens, yellows and light-toned woods is how I envision this could would thrive the most. With a 2x6 size tile, you can definitely play around with the pattern you would want to create, such as a vertical or a herringbone pattern.

4. The Merola Tile from Perigold
The Merola Tile is a mosaic tile that is very coastal. It captures the natural beauty of a seashell and creates a soft feel with its rounded shape. These penny shaped natural seashell tiles glisten so beautifully, while also creating a radiant space. Its soft beige tones with pop of warm orange and browns work so well with a vast range of other bathroom materials. The Merola tile would make for a great bathroom floor, backsplash and even shower walls - as it is quite versatile due its softer tones. Overall, such a wonderfully executed tile that encourages tranquility, elegance and beauty into a space.

5. The Jewel Onyx Blue 24x48 Polished Porcelain Tile by Tilebar
The Jewel Onyx Blue tile is a breathtaking tile. Its beautiful blue, beige and pops of white create a wave like pattern. It is perfect for showers and bathroom backsplashes, as I believe that a space full of this tile would be slightly overwhelming. This stunning piece creates movement and depth in a space - so perfect for those coastal or moodier spaces. The Jewel Onyx tile line by Tilebar is perfect for those wanting less grout lines, as these specific tiles are oversized and create a seamless look. This same tile also comes in coral, laborite, pearl and white - so if you love the pattern but not the color, check out the other colors on their website.

6. The Nazca Onyx and Glass Listello Wall and Floor Tile - 2 x 8 in. by The Tile Shop
The Nazca Onyx and Glass Listello tile has so much personality. It is colorful without being too bright or harsh, The soft pastels bring out such a luminous and relaxing feel to any space. This specific tile however, would look particularly remarkable in a bathroom floor, sink area's backsplash, shower or even as an accent strip. This tile is a great way to add tile without going too dark, moody or bright. It blends in into almost any space, given that it is multicolored. It's just so easy to look at!
PS. it also looks coastal as well due to the shell like colors and patterns! What do you think?

7. The Como Rose Subway Tile by The Republic
The Como Rose Subway tile is feminine and glossy. Suitable for shower walls or as backsplash. It is lightly textured, so it's perfect for the spaces needing visual weight and/or balance. There's also variations of pink in the tile, so it'll definitely bring in some dimension for those monotonous spaces. I believe that this tile would thrive in showers, accent strips, or as backsplash due to its slick touch. Colors that compliment this tile includes but in not limited to; lighter pinks, charcoal grays, mauves, and lighter bone colors.
Also!!! Perfect for those wanting to create a more romantic, feminine, and nurturing space.
